“Block Rockin’ Beats” is a song by English big beat duo The Chemical Brothers. It was released as the second single from their second album, Dig Your Own Hole, in March 1997. It reached number 1 on the UK Singles Chart, and number 40 on the American Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart. It also received a Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance.
There are two different edits of “Block Rockin’ Beats” available; one is the version found on Dig Your Own Hole, which has an intro, and the other version begins with the bassline. The B-side “Morning Lemon” is also available on the second disc of the limited edition Singles 93–03.
It was used in the 2003 Ongoing History of New Music episode “Alt-Rock’s Greatest Instrumentals”. Also it is a soundtrack in Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle.

Mariah Carey – Honey
“Honey” is a song by American singer-songwriter Mariah Carey from her sixth studio album, Butterfly. It was released as the lead single from the album on August 26, 1997. The song was written by Carey, Puff Daddy, Q-Tip and Stevie J, all of whom served as the song’s producers as well. It samples “Hey DJ” by the World’s Famous Supreme Team, and “The Body Rock” by the Treacherous Three. “Honey” was a re-defining song in Carey’s career, pushing her further into hip-hop world. The song’s lyrics describe the feeling the protagonist feels towards her lover, and compares the sensation to honey, and its overbearing sweetness.

“One Headlight” is a song performed by American band The Wallflowers. The song was written by lead singer Jakob Dylan, and produced by T-Bone Burnett. It was released on February 24, 1997 via Interscope Records, as the second single from the band’s 1996 album, Bringing Down the Horse. In 2000, the song was listed at #58 on Rolling Stone and MTVs list of “100 Greatest Pop Songs of All Time”.
The Verve – Bitter Sweet Symphony
“Bitter Sweet Symphony” is a song by English alternative rock band The Verve, and is the lead track on their third album, Urban Hymns. It is based on, in which it samples an Andrew Loog Oldham orchestral version of the Rolling Stones’ song, “The Last Time” and involved some legal controversy surrounding plagiarism charges. “Bitter Sweet Symphony” was released on 16 June 1997 by Hut Recordings as the first single from the album, reaching number two on the UK Singles Chart.
Savage Garden – Truly Madly Deeply
“Truly Madly Deeply” is a song by Australian pop band Savage Garden, released as a single in March 1997. Written by band-mates Darren Hayes and Daniel Jones, the song is a reworking of a song called “Magical Kisses” that the pair wrote together long before recording began on their debut album. “Truly Madly Deeply” was released as the third single from their self-titled debut album. In 1998, it became the main theme from the soundtrack of the movie Music from Another Room, starring Jude Law and Gretchen Mol.
